Details

GA Precision and Bushnell Tactical proudly announce the 2015 “GAP Grind/Bushnell PRO/AM”. In association with The Precision Rifle Series, this year’s match format will be a Professional/Amateur (PRO/AM) Team Match to promote sportsmanship and welcome new shooters to the competition scene. Top competitors, new competitors and everyone in between from around the country are invited to attend. The match will be hosted by K&M Precision Rifle Training at their new Shooting Complex in Finger, TN.

The 2014 GAP GRIND was the largest Precision Rifle Match ever held, the 2015 GAP GRIND promises to exceed that very high standard.

The competition will be a high tempo match with minimal “down time” between stages. Competitors can expect 20 plus stages throughout the weekend. The course of fire will test and train disciplines from across law enforcement, military and practical marksman spectrums. Competitors can expect engagements at an assortment of steel, reactive, paper and automated moving targets to 1200yds. Targets size will vary in difficulty based on the shooters position, distance and time allotted. Most stages will include “stressors”, either time and/or movement. All scoring will be transparent, balanced and fall within guidelines in order to reward the most consistent shooters/teams. The competition will require 180 rounds to complete the course of fire and is caliber restricted to 300 WinMag and below. The course of fire will be made public at the start of the competition on Friday at 3:00 pm.

Competitors will compete as individuals and as a team; scores will be maintained for both. Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 teams, top 5 professionals and to the top 5 amateurs. The format for Day 1 will be primarily focused on team work, but each team member will shoot the same course of fire. Scores for Day 1 will count toward team and amateur standings. Day 2 will be executed in a similar fashion but the professional shooter will always shoot first on each stage. Day 2 scores will be counted towards the professional, amateur and team scores. Only Day 2 scores will be applied toward the individual professional’s score and will be counted toward the Precision Rifle Series standings. Utilizing this format we are able to keep the welcoming PRO/AM mentorship atmosphere and allow the Precision Rifle Series competitors to gain individual PRS points.

Guidelines

Consider yourself Professional if you have competed in national level competitions and have placed in the top 2/3rds consistently or have competed in regional or local matches and placed in the top 1/3rd.

Consider yourself an amateur if you have never competed, only competed in a handful of matches or have not placed higher than the bottom 1/3rd.

Please send the match directors (George Gardner: [email protected] or Shannon Kay: [email protected]) an email if you are unsure which level to compete in. MDs reserve the right to DQ any teams that attempt to defraud the nature of the event by “stacking” their teams. Every attempt will be made to squad teams by shooter requests. Competitors are expected to assist and support their entire squad to truly make the match a group effort.
