The Vortex Rampage will be held at Chase the Adventure near Decorah Iowa.
Shooters should expect 18-20, mostly 2 minute time allotments, with stages laid out on two properties offering unique shooting challenges over this 2 day event. It is our goal to run all stages simultaneously to keep the match flow moving, and get you off the range in a timely fashion. This match will include traditional PRS type stages, with an effort to return to our roots from the early years of the PRS, all within the confines of the current rule system. Expect stages to include; time stressors, mild physical tasks, movement, and problem solving.
Historically my race gun matches have fallen into the middle average of target size and difficulty, with that said 90% of the match will have targets ranging from 300 to 700 yards with a few out to a max of 800ish.

Friday Check in and Awards Banquet meal, will be held at the Chase the Adventure lodge with indoor seating of at least 100 and an outdoor pavilion to accommodate overflow as well.

The 100 yard range will be open during check in Friday from 2-6PM, we will not have any availability to shoot past that for dope checks, being as it is an inside 800 yard match this should not be necessary anyway. Come prepared knowing this.

There are many campgrounds, hotels and airbnb's in and around Decorah. Camping at the Chase the Adventure facility is also available, there is plenty of room for campers to be parking on the Trap range and tent camping on the lawn around the lodge.

Chamber flags will be utilized, eye pro is at the shooters discretion, ear protection is required. Range officers will enforce the cold range rules, flagging rules, and sky loading rules in an effort to keep everyone safe in on and around the properties.

The surrounding communities offer multiple craft breweries, excellent restaurants, world class trout fishing, hiking trails and tube and kayak rentals to enjoy our wooded rolling hills, valleys, and rivers during your visit. We hope to see you all enjoy our facilities, and rifle match in North East Iowa.
