The Ultimate Showdown: PRS Rimfire Cup 2026

The Ultimate Showdown: PRS Rimfire Cup 2026

The Precision Rifle Series launches its first international team competition - and only one team will take home the Cup.

Venue: West Midlands, UK

Date: July 17 - 19, 2026

Teams: 20 North American shooters vs. 20 shooters from the rest of the world (currently only Europe has an active PRS International Rimfire region)

Team Selection
North American Team - Selection is based on the following:
  • The first 5 invitations go to the top USA and Canadian rimfire shooters based on scores from the 2025 IPRF World Championship - all shooters must have a PRS membership
    • Of these 5 invitations, one will be Female and one will be Senior
  • The next 12 invitations are determined by the combined results from the last two PRS Rimfire National match finishes - 2024 & 2025
    • Maximum score of 600 per season, 1,200 combined
    • Of these 12 invitations, one will be Female and one will be Senior
  • The final 3 invitations are selected by the Team Captain and the PRS Rimfire Director. Self-selection is not permitted.
    • Eligibility for a Team Captain's pick requires a prior top-3 finish at a PRS Rimfire National Championship, providing a clear selection criterion
  • 20 additional spots will be filled as a B Team - those shooters will compete in a mirrored match
    • The B Team will act as backup for the A Team should shooters withdraw from the match
    • A minimum of 15 invitations will be sent based on national ranking from the last two nationals. If needed, 5 can be selected by the Director.
European Team - Selection is based on the following:
  • The first 8 invitations will go to the top from all countries involved, based on scores from the 2025 IPRF World Championship all shooters must have a PRS membership
    • Of these 8 invitations, one will be Female and one will be Senior
  • The next 7 invitations are determined based on PRS rankings from a 2025 Rimfire National Championship within the PRS International Rimfire European Region (September 9th, 2025 in CZ)
    • Of these 7 invitations, one will be Female and one will be Senior
  • The final 5 invitations are selected by the Team Captains - local score standings as well as recent scores should be utilized for this determination
  • 20 additional spots will be filled as a B Team - those shooters will compete in a mirrored match
    • The B Team will act as backup for the A Team should shooters withdraw from the match
  • Current team captains
    • Europe: Tom Rice, Ben Wood, Runar Jonsson
    • Italy: Davide Pisenti
Other Match Information
  • The PRS Rimfire Cup will be a high-level International invitational match that complements the previous year's World Rimfire Championship
  • With only 40 shooters, the event will be efficiently run and allows for live coverage, shooter interviews and detailed media content
  • Spectator/Side Match Option:
    • If the Match Director can run two ranges with 20 stages each, a B-Team match could take place on Days 1 and 2 on that second range
      • This would be limited to 40 additional shooters, grouped into Team A and Team B
      • The format would mirror the main event
