ABOUT PRS
The Precision Rifle Series (PRS) is the leading global organization for long-range precision rifle competition.
NEW TO PRS?The Precision Rifle Series (PRS) is a long-range precision rifle shooting sport and the leading organization for competitive precision rifle matches worldwide. PRS oversees local, regional, national, and international competitions, providing a structured format for matches and a system for tracking scores and rankings. Built around real-world shooting scenarios, competitors engage steel targets from a variety of positions including barricades, rooftops, prone positions, and natural terrain. The objective is simple: hit as many targets as possible within a set time limit. Each match challenges a shooter's ability to combine accuracy, movement, and decision-making under pressure.
PRS exists to grow the sport of precision rifle shooting in a way that is safe, practical, and accessible to shooters of all skill levels. From first-time competitors to the best shooters in the world, PRS provides a clear path to compete, improve, and connect within the shooting community.
Today, PRS supports thousands of active competitors and hundreds of matches across the United States and internationally. From local one-day matches to national-level championship events, PRS provides a structured competitive pathway for shooters at every level. What began as a grassroots discipline has grown into one of the fastest-growing shooting sports in the world.
No two PRS matches are the same.
Courses of fire are designed by individual match directors and vary by terrain, props, and challenges. This variety forces shooters to adapt, problem-solve, and perform in constantly changing conditions.
Matches reflect real-world applications drawn from military, law enforcement, and hunting environments — making every stage both challenging and practical.
PRS is more than competition. It is a community of shooters, match directors, and industry partners who share a passion for precision, challenge, and continual improvement.
Whether you are attending your first match or competing for a championship, there is a place for you in PRS.
